Final Post!!!!!!!!

About The English summer course experience:

1. What kind of activities and things have you done and learnt in classes?

We listened grammar class and make activities to exercise the use of the words and the comprehension. We practiced listening and reading with web sites that I didn’t know before. We had to make a blogger and we maked new posts almost every week and if not we used to practice for the oral interaction exam making and answering some questions about some topics. And we had to do three videos. I practiced a lot.

2. What aspects of the English language do you still have to improve? How do you plan to do it?

I still having problems with grammar and pronunciation, also with my speaking, is not so fluency and there is a lot of vocabulary that I don’t dominate. I think that the only way to advance is practicing so much, using the English daily. So I think that I will try to practice English with everything I can; watching movies and series in English without subtitles, trying to speak more and all that.

About your well deserved summer holidays:

1. What are you going to do in February? Tell me about your plans for your summer vacations.

I will go to Iquique for February. I don’t know yet if I will travel on a truck or on a bus or on an airplane, but is sure that I will go. I pretend to travel at the middle of the next week. I have my family and some very important friends there so I will go to spend time with them and also for work in my projects.

AN ARTIST THAT YOU ADMIRE (PAINTER, MUSICIAN, SCULPTOR, ETC...)

Hi, today Im going to talk about an artist that I love…
He is a musician on his base, but I think that his propose make to him a complete artist.

David Bowie, is an english muscian who was born on January 8, 1947 in Brixton, London. His real name is David Robert Jones. At age thirteen he start his carreer  inspired by the jazz of the London West End, he picked up the saxophone and called up Ronnie Ross for lessons. He played in some bands, but then Kenneth Pitt signed on as his manager, and his career began with a handful of mostly forgotten singles but a head full of ideas.

Until 1969 David launched the legendary Space Oddity (which peaked at No. 5 in the UK). Amidst his musical wanderings in the late 60s, he experimented with mixed media, cinema, mime, Tibetan Buddhism, acting and love. The album, originally titled David Bowie then subsequently Man of Words, Man of Music, pays homage to all the influences of the London artistic scene. It shows the early song-writing talent that was yet to yield some of rock-n-roll’s finest work, even if it would take the rest of the world a few years to catch up with him.

I like him so much…. His music, his style, his visual and musical propose; He is so dinamic and  He do what he wants, when he wants.

Post 6 : Have you ever...?

Have you ever changed your appearance a lot in a short time? (For example, hair style, hair color or

weight)

Yes I have, so many times… Actually, once five years ago, I shaved all my head. That was really refreshing, because I did it in summer; I was very fresh feeling the breeze in my head. To use the shaved head has many advantages.

Have you ever ridden a horse?

Yes, I have. When I was a child, a countryman who raised horses taught me. He used his favourite horse, a black Chilean colt, although is not common or well seen to use colts for ride . He used to tell me smiling: “you'll be able to say that you learned to ride with a Chilean colt”

Have you ever tried any extreme sports?

Yes, I have. Actually I practice freediving that is to dive but without tanks, snorkelling. I like it so much; I’ve been doing since I was a child. I've also flown in paragliding, many times. I I've flown alone and with a friend who is instructor.

Have you ever fired a gun?

Yes, I have. I've shot rifles and shotguns, and a revolver gun too. My father likes to hunt, so he took me with him and he taught me. I don’t like to hunt…. But I know how to shoot a gun

2 Film Directors

Rainer Werner Fassbinder was a very important German film director, he was visionary, a genius, for the new german cinema. He made 41 films, two television film series, 3 short films, four video productions; twenty-four stage plays, four radio plays andthirty-six acting roles in his own and others’ films. He was an appasionated director, actor of film and thearer, composer, editor, producer and cameraman. His films are very varied: dramas, thrillers, romances, comedies, literary adaptations, even science fiction and a Western. I love the picture and camerawork of his films, also the dramatized dialogs. His relationship with teather is present on the 3 stages of his carrer, also his explorations about how deep-rooted prejudices about race, sex, sexual orientations, politics and class are inherent in society, while also tackling his trademark subject of the everyday facism of family life and friendship.
The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant is ones of his films, make in 1972. The action occurs in a ornate apartment (with the  featuring an eclectic soundtrack: The Platters and Verdi). This is Fassbinder's exploration of power dynamics among a group of lesbians... and, by extension, any people. I love this film, even this can be boring, to people, for the time treatment.

Robert Wiene was born on April 24, 1873 in Breslau, Silesia, Germany and he was an important German Film Dierctor too, especially for silent cinema. He had a lot of films of varying styles and genres, even the most knows is "The Gabinete of Dr. Caligari". A fascinate silent horror movie, of the German Expressionism cinema. The film used stylized sets, with abstract, jagged buildings painted on canvas backdrops and flats. To add to this strange style, the actors used an unrealistic technique that exhibited "jerky" and dance-like movements.

Opinions

What is your opinion about women in the military?

For many years the military forces in Chile had been implanting planes for the insertion of women on their lines, those programs seems to be successful, but not without some archaic resistances of some people, especially some old men that thoughts that the women would been a distraction most than a contribution. The army and fach are the most advanced on this area, including, specially fach, the tolerance and equality manners to another sexual options or conditions too; perhaps they have so many work to do whit the oppositions on their own lines. I think that this is right; we have to move to the equality ways in all the areas.

What is your opinion about the Chilean police? (I changed the question because I’m bored to speak about politicians :P)

The Chilean Police is one of the better qualified in the Americas for the public’s opinion and others indicators. Despite that his specials forces have a lot of complaints of violations to human rights and excessive use of force, especially in protest and whit the Mapuches conflict. I think that even they mission is to defend to people and help to the order, and I don’t doubt that many of his members have this vocation, on the practice they are a contradiction.

What is your opinion about jazz music?

I love jazz music. The mix of rhythms, vocals ways, the use of instruments, and his history are fascinating. Recently I’m very in love with Chet Baker and Mingus, even there are many other musicians of jazz that I like a lot.

What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana?

I think that is totally necessary, there are a lot of legal drugs equal or very most dangerous than marijuana, as well as there are many things that are approve like some foods and medications that the government practically force us to consume whit their politics. Why can’t we decide what we put on our body?

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?

I think that the decision of abortion must to be in hands of who is directly involved on there. For that is necessary to legislate about it; is something that already exists, is enough of silence. All the time and the most part of debate had been manage for men, specially the opposite side. Why some people think that have the right of take decisions about the body of someone else? I think that the abortion have to be a right for every one without condition, also whit educational programs that show all the additional other options. I really think that the right to abortion, especially here where society is not really willing to put in charge with that children, and only the persons of a better economic situation can do it in better conditions, and practice abortion without the risk of die. Another thing are the moral discussions, that’s for the personal decision, not for the right legislate.

A country I would like to visit

Hi, today Im going to talk about a country I want to visit, China.
I have many reasons for want to travel on there. China has splendid landscapes, a facinate history, and a very intertesting cultural legacy . UNESCO has included 27 renowned Chinese scenic places on its lists of world cultural and natural heritage sites. The land of China is pockmarked by historical sites and cultural relics. Beijing, Xi'an, Nanjing, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Hangzhou and Anyang are seven ancient capitals. Also, I want to go to China for the Kong Fu; I practice it and I love it. In china there are many temples, but they are not famous as shao lin temple, from kung fu; such as Wu Dang Temple, Er Mei Temple, etc. There are temples exclusively for women, too.  I would like to stay there for a while to know the lanscapes and temples and if I could, I would like to study in the temples like a visitor.

This is a documentary "Loto y Espada", that talks about Yongtai Monastery, a female Kong Fu temple.

A song I like

THE CRAMPS - TEAR IT UP

I really like this song. This was the first song that I knew of this band, "The Cramps", one of my favourite one's. Is a Psychobilly band, a music style very energic, a mix between punk and rock and roll, family of rockabilly but with another topic on his lirics like monsters, psychokillers histories, or another darks things, but also with humor,  horror's humor.
I love the way i feel when I listen and see the video of this song, the vocalist's performance on the scene reminds me my tokata's times.

Really, the liric of this song is pretty basic, but powerfull, the important thing is the way that the vocalist, Lux Interior, sings and the way that all the instruments make honor to the title onf the song.
